"Sh-s"

Emery's first word was "Shoes." She kind of says it without the "oe" and makes it sound like half a syllable. She loves to put our shoes on and doesn't make it very far. She always makes sure all of us have shoes on. Pretty cute!I just love this picture - Kevin plays the piano in the primary and was practicing when Emery crawled up next to him to help.

Catch-up

It's been a while and I just thought I'd give you a photo diary of a few things... Kevin got Emery dressed for bed the other night and put her footie jammies on backwards!:)
Emery thought it was pretty funny. Imagine them both trying to figure out how to turn the feet so she could walk! It still makes me laugh out loud!

Emery LOVES snow! She grabs big handfuls of it and stuffs it in her mouth - mmmm good! The cold doesn't seem to bother her till we get back inside and her hands start un-numbing!

Grandpa Mark got a new Radio Flyer wagon for Christmas to pull his Grandkids in - Emery and Will loved the ride! They played in it all day.

Emery and Will and their binkies! What are we going to do with them? This was Christmas Eve at Great Grandma and Grandpa Barnes's house - we had a wonderful time.
We also spent a lot of time with Kevin's family playing games and visiting. Because Kevin only had one final on the first day of finals, we really had three weeks off! Also, our great friends the Lukes came to visit from TN and I got to help them surprise their family - it was so fun to spend time with them playing Cranium and even attending a Jazz game. We were sad to see them go. After three weeks of fun and play, it was really hard to get back to reality. Now Kevin only has 2 classes and still works in Salt Lake three days a week. I took on a little babysitting job on Friday mornings and I still volunteer at the elementary school that I used to teach at. Kourtne and I trade babysitting. Emery and Will love to play together and keep learning a lot. Emery went to Nursery on Sunday for the first time! It was amazing to be able to listen to the Sunday School and Relief Society lessons. She loved it and didn't even want to leave! Also, at the end of the month, we'll find out what we're having - boy or girl - we're excited to see! Keep in touch!

Traveshamockery

I've been meaning to post this picture for a really long time - I lost the file of the photo for a while. When we got home from Thanksgiving, just in time for the BYU/Utah game Saturday morning, we were driving up our street and noticed many cars with "Go Utes" etc. on them and wondered how there could be so many Utah fans parked at Wymount. We soon realized they weren't Utah fan cars because we pulled into our parking lot and our new beautiful (red) Four Runner was covered in "Go Utah" signs. You might ask, "Why did someone with 'blue' blood purchase such a red car?" We thought it was a great deal and we tried to compensate by putting BYU licence plates on it! Give us a break! Nevertheless, we were "had" by some crazy Utah fans and thought it was a Travesty, a Sham, and a Mockery -of course, only till we beat the suckers!!! Go 4th and 18!!!!:) The cougars came through and we showed Ute fans everywhere not to EVER vandalize a BYU fan's red car again!
