Endless and Party

So I'm feeling a little down today 'cause I'm up to my ears in laundry and housework. I vacuumed my two main rooms this morning and you already can't tell. I've folded 3 loads of wash and have at least three more to do. It seems when I leave one clean room to tackle the next not-so-clean one, some secret elf swooshes in behind me and completely trashes the newly cleaned space. What to do, what to do...

OK, so the main disappointment and source for my "down" is that I was rejected from participating in the Beehive Bazaar down in Provo this spring. I really, really, really wanted to be a part of it and show off my crafts that I've been so busily crafting...Yup, I'm officially having a pitty party. And so, to celebrate...

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2- What I create will be just for you.
3- It'll be done this year.
4- You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a story. It may be poetry or an article on properly cleaning your face before a masque. I may sew or paint something. I may bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!
5- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did post it win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!

Family

Found this fun Family Tree project on Martha’s Website

It took me a while to get my handwriting the way I wanted it, but it turned out pretty nice. I did one for Emery and Jane and put it on the walls in their rooms next to a picture of the temple. I love the look of it and it was really fun to get all the information – I was reminded of all our wonderful ancestors. Turns out Kevin and I both have Great Grandma Ruby’s! Now we have a new family name to use for another kid…no, this is not an announcement!:)

ETSY

000_0012I’m hooked.  I’m obsessed. I’m going crazy!

So, a couple weeks ago I watched an episode of Studio5 –on KSL and got an idea to make purses from old wool sweaters and I wanted to try it.  I dropped everything on slate for the day and packed my girls up to go to DI for some sweaters.  I found two that I wanted and brought them home.  If you know me at all, when I get an idea in my head I have to do it NOW and it has to get done NOW.  All of my mothering and house-keeping  responsibilities fly out the window and I go into “project mode”.  It’s really sad.  I need help.

And then I decide I want to try to sell them…

So since those first two sweaters, I drove all the way out to the Sandy DI to check out their inventory and got five more sweaters for $20.  So, two weeks, 5 handbags, 2 pairs of wool baby shoes and an “Etsy shop” later, I have not sold anything and am OBSESSED with checking to see if people have looked at my items.  I probably check my email and my shop 12 times a day!  SERIOUSLY? Is that healthy?

If you know anything about Etsy, you know there are over 4,000 purses/handbags for sale and I really don’t have much of a chance…I’m not really in it for the money (money  is nice, but not necessary at this point – I don’t want to stress out about it – but wait, I think I am anyway!) I just like to keep my hands busy.

I’m not begging for mercy or for you to be interested AT ALL in what I have in my Etsy, I jut wanted to get someone else hooked too.

Do you have an Etsy story?
